Director of Legal Affairs

On behalf of our client, a major utilities company in Montenegro, we are looking for an experienced legal officer to lead their Legal Department.

You will be expected to:

•     Take on a role of a leader of an extensive legal team within on of the largest companies in the market;

•     Manage a whole range of legal activities of the company: corporate affairs, property related affairs, administrative and regulatory affairs, tenders, procurement and contracting issues, internal as well as external legal matters;

•     Represent the company in legal proceedings;

•     Coordinate any and all legal actions related to the company activities;

•     Liaise with public authorities, courts and other relevant bodies;

•     Provide legal support to other units within the company whenever needed;

•     Provide expert opinions on implications of adoption of new standards and procedures within the company, contracts or any significant actions taken;

•     Ensure the compliance of all company activities with current applicable legal regulations of Montenegro;

In order to succeed, you fulfill the following criteria:

·     Degree in law, bar exam desired;

·     Extensive (10 years) experience as an inhouse lawyer or in a legal practice;

·     Prior management experience required, preferably from an international or a multicultural team;

·     Prior working experience in international environment would be a great asset;

·     Excellent knowledge of all aspects of commercial law;

·     Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;

·     Mature professional with ability to motivate teams to delivery of high quality services;

·     Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

·     Excellend command of English and Montenegrin/Serbian/Croatian languages;
